Careers at SARI Global
We are a small, specialist team of analysts, advisors, and technologists working at the intersection of intelligence, humanitarian operations, and emerging technology. If you are driven by purpose and thrive in complex environments, we want to hear from you.
Work that matters, in places that need it most
SARI operates in some of the world's most challenging environments — Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, Nigeria, and beyond. Our work directly supports the safety of humanitarian workers, informs operational decisions that affect vulnerable populations, and builds the intelligence capacity of organisations doing critical work.
We are a lean, expert team. Every person contributes meaningfully from day one. There is no room for passengers — but enormous opportunity for those who are curious, rigorous, and committed.
What We Stand For
The principles that guide how we work, what we produce, and how we engage with the contexts we operate in.
Analytical Rigour
We triangulate. We verify. We do not publish what we cannot substantiate. Accuracy is not optional in the environments we work in.
Contextual Humility
We know what we do not know. We embed local expertise, listen to communities, and resist the temptation to impose external frameworks on complex realities.
Operational Relevance
Intelligence that cannot be acted upon is noise. Everything we produce is designed to translate directly into better decisions on the ground.
Partnership First
We work with our clients, not for them. Security and risk management is most effective when integrated into programme design — not bolted on.
Technological Innovation
We build tools that others have not built. STRAT-i represents our belief that intelligence platforms for fragile contexts should be designed specifically for those contexts.
Do No Harm
We operate with a duty of care to the populations our work touches. Conflict sensitivity, data protection, and source safety are non-negotiable.
Current Openings
We are currently recruiting for the positions listed below. All applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Intelligence & Research Intern
A paid internship opportunity for two motivated individuals to join SARI Global's core analytical team, contributing to live intelligence products, research outputs, and technology-supported reporting across our areas of operation.
Role Overview
Interns at SARI Global work alongside senior analysts and advisors on real deliverables — contributing to periodic reports, area assessments, STRAT-i dashboard content, and research briefs. This is not a shadowing role. You will produce work that reaches our subscribers.
What You Will Do
- Monitor and analyse open-source intelligence (OSINT) across assigned geographies, including conflict dynamics, political developments, and humanitarian access
- Contribute to the drafting of weekly and monthly situation reports, incident trackers, and area assessments
- Support the population and maintenance of STRAT-i dashboard content, including incident databases and geospatial layers
- Assist with climate and DRR monitoring, including interpretation of satellite-derived data and hazard indicators
- Conduct background research for due diligence, actor mapping, and stakeholder analysis assignments
- Participate in team briefings, peer review processes, and analytical methodology sessions
What We Are Looking For
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in International Relations, Political Science, Geography, Conflict Studies, Security Studies, Development, or a related field
- Strong written English — you can communicate complex situations clearly and concisely
- Genuine interest in one or more of SARI's core geographies: Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, or South & West Asia
- Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and flag issues proactively
- Comfortable working in a remote, distributed team environment
- Familiarity with OSINT tools, GIS, or data visualisation platforms is a strong advantage
- Arabic, French, or other relevant language skills are highly desirable but not required
